Fashion. The ultimate Book of Costume and Style

I’ve just made myself the best gift I could, something I’ve been waiting for a while – an amazing book – ‚Fashion. The ultimate Book of Costume and Style’ by a few authors Caryn Franklin among others (of course my version is in Polish). I already have ‚Historie du costume en occident des origines a nos jours’ by Francois Boucher (here). I haven’t read the first one yet, just a couple of pages, but so far so good, i love it – lots of photos, lots of chronological information and chronological tables, also specialised terminology, specification how clothes and accessories has changed through the years. I definitely recommend it to anyone who is interested in the issue of fashion, who wants to work in the fashion industry in the future, it’s a great base.

Właśnie sprezentowałam samej sobie najlepszy prezent jaki mogłam, coś na co czekałam jakiś czas – niesamowitą książkę – „Moda. Wielka Księga Ubiorów i Stylów” napisaną przez kilku autorów m.in. Caryn Franklin. Już posiadam „Historię Mody. Dzieje ubiorów od czasów prehistorycznych do końca XX wieku” Francois Boucher (tutaj). Nie czytałam jeszcze tej pierwszej pozycji, zaledwie kilka stron, ale jak dotąd uwielbiam ją – mnóstwo zdjęć, mnóstwo chronologicznie ułożonych informacji i chronologicznych tablic, oraz specjalistycznej terminologii, dokładny opis jak ubrania i akcesoria zmieniły się przez lata. Polecam każdemu, kto interesuje się zagadnieniem mody, kto w przyszłości chce pracować w tej branży, to świetna podstawa.
